Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Local moving is charged by the hour and there is a 3 hour minimum. Depending on the size of the job we have 2 man and a truck rate all the way up to 6-man 2 truck rates. Thats why it's best to get a personal quote for every job. Long distance is charged by weight and milage. Call for a quote today

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
New customers would message me on thumbtack and then click hired and call me to set up your time, to give me your information and reserve your move date.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I've been moving furniture in Portland since 2004. I've moved baby grands, hot tubs and safes. This is the type of skill that you acquire through experience and hands on training. Our whole team at Precision relocation has on average 8 years' experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I looked at it as a paid workout when I was 19. I also liked working in a new place everyday. I think the feeling of accomplishment is what drives most of my movers. The tips don't hurt either.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked for the elderly community. Good working class people who appreciate good service at a good price. Every type of person Portland has to offer. We've moved 8000 square foot homes all the way to retirement homes. No job is too big or too small.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently moved a washer, dryer and shelf to a customers house. Then we went downstairs with the washer and dryer just to find the real reason we were called. He had a 9ft long elliptical machine that had to go upstairs. So my helper and I lifted it up straight up and down to corner the switchback staircase and put it in his garage. It was no small feat. Happy customer and he left a review.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Trust reviews because they were happy enough with the service to let others know. The second piece of advice is Id go with the company that responds to your call or message in a timely manner.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How many stairs? All moving companys have a 2 or 3 hour minimum. Can you move safes and pianos ? How much experience do you have? Are you Licensed Bonded and Insured ?
